Project Description
I’ve always loved Nerf guns. I also love the Borderlands franchise. I always see these amazing cosplayers that do incredible work and I wanted to challenge myself to learn how to paint in a new art style on a physical medium. Nerf guns were the perfect foundation for this as Borderlands is filled to the brim with procedural weapons with each manufacturer having a unique silhouette and aesthetic.
Maliwan.
I knew that I wanted to start with something that wouldn’t be overwhelmingly complex so I chose a spare pistol that I had laying around and went forward with a Maliwan design.
Torgue.
The next one I worked on was a bit more complex as far as painting is concerned. More colors, additional patterns and a lot more sanding.
Hyperion.
I know, I know. Hyperion doesn’t manufacture rifles but I DON’T CARE. I liked the form factor of this one (though it’s probably better suited for Dahl) and I wanted to do something with the classic Hyperion color scheme.
