Project Description
In honor of their 1st Anniversary, AEW wanted to create a digital content platform to get fans excited about the upcoming year and showcase last season’s highlights in a unique way. Rather than a landing page filled with a list of videos, our team suggested a more immersive experience centered around the arena itself.
We created our own 360°, 3D arena and placed the highlights throughout the 3D space from the announcer’s table to back stage. Along side the videos showcasing wrestler backstories and historic moments, we hid Easter eggs to encourage exploration and reward user’s with viral moments that true fans would appreciate.
Immersive and effective.
We were able to quickly and effectively create a system that allowed us to place points of interest (POIs) thought a 3D space to create spatial awareness in a setting that felt natural when viewing the content.
Make it delightful.
We borrowed from the motion graphics that we saw from promotional TV materials to create some nice brand consistency, as well as make it feel more premium.
Great performance.
Knowing that we wanted to have this experience be accessible from any device, we optimized all assets for numerous breakpoints to ensure animations were smooth and content was delivered efficiently.
