Overview
The Parent Cue app, supported by a custom CMS, empowers parents with faith-based resources and activities to connect with their children across all age groups, from kindergarten through high school. Needing a complete overhaul of their digital experience, Parent Cue sought a more engaging mobile interface for parents and a streamlined way for churches to upload content for their members. Our team transformed the experience from back-end infrastructure to the front end, delivering fully native iOS and Android apps.
Challenges
Parent Cue provided print-based brand guidelines but needed support adapting them to a digital format with additional design elements. The experience had to cater to parents looking for age-appropriate content to support daily routines with their children. Additionally, churches required a system to easily upload and distribute custom content to their congregation.
Solution
We developed a CMS that enabled Parent Cue and participating churches to effortlessly upload and preview content as it would appear in the app. For parents, we built intuitive, native apps on iOS and Android that allowed them to search for their church, add their children’s information, and access customized content tailored to each child’s developmental phase.
Delight
To bring charm to the experience, we designed a custom hand-drawn icon set that complemented Parent Cue’s child-friendly illustrative style. These playful icons added warmth to the app, making navigation delightful and engaging for both parents and children.
Conclusion
The project delivered a robust design system, native apps, and a CMS that significantly enhanced user experience. Parent Cue saw a 21% increase in user engagement, a 70% improvement in user customization options, and a 34% boost in average monthly downloads. The new Parent Cue app has become a valuable tool, fostering meaningful parent-child connections in a visually engaging, user-friendly format.
