Two sides are better than one.

Flipit

My Role

Storyboarding, Video, Animation

Project Description

Flipit is a mattress brand that extends the life of your mattress by allowing the sleeper to flip and rotate it frequently, so both sides refresh equally and minimize body impressions.

For this project, Flipit was interested in a concise and easy to digest video that could be run as a part of small marketing campaign to bring awareness to the brand, their points of differentiation, and their value driven product.

Finding the purpose.

Storyboarding is a great way to block out content to understand the way that content should flow from section to section. In this example, we proposed a funnel that started with establishing the brand, demonstrating the features, and resolving in a clear call-to-action.

Setting the pace.

Using a script, my intent was to define the flow a little more granularly and to assign an expected time for animations and transitions. This way I could estimate the entire length of the video and understand the time needed for copy to be read.

Adding the flair.

Once the pacing and content was set, I comped up the thumbnails to create a feel for balance and composition — ensuring that it felt cohesive with the brand at all times.

The result.

After the client selected their desired music, I exported my assets for use in After Effects and focused my efforts on subtle animations and smooth, fluid transitions all to create a sense of ease and calm.
