Project Description
Our team developed a virtual reality (VR) experience for The Home Depot's annual conference, deployed on Samsung Gear VR, with the aim of revealing sales opportunities that many customers were missing out on. The focus of the experience was to educate Home Depot's general managers on the value of upselling products beyond wiring when selling to professional contractors.
Making it memorable.
We created a VR experience that simulates both a commercial and residential space. The user enters a fully-furnished, virtual space that feels very familiar and well lit. After starting the experience, the user sees the walls dissolve around them, the wiring connect to dozens of objects in the space, and an enormous sales receipt display the difference between the cost of only the wiring and everything else that it connects to.
Deliver with ease.
We built the experience for Android devices that were then inserted into Samsung Gear VR headsets. We worked with the client to figure out the number of devices that they would need for this conference, as well as a way to build to devices remotely in case of any updates needed.
Making it reuseable.
In addition to the immersive experience, we recorded footage in-editor to allow for the same content to be used for traditional instructional videos via simple timeline animations and some basic development.
