Overview
TKE partnered with Dragon Army once again to develop a modular UI design system for the EOX elevator line, a premium yet affordable option in the market. The goal was to create a visually polished, optimized display experience that allowed for extensive customization. Designed to enhance user interaction, the system needed to support multiple widget layouts, orientations, and two distinct screen sizes with varying aspect ratios.
Challenges
The project required balancing premium aesthetics with modularity. The design system had to be adaptable across dozens of layout configurations and orientations while ensuring optimal display on two different screen dimensions. Additionally, compliance with strict safety standards in the U.S. and EU added complexity, demanding a deep understanding of regulatory requirements for user interfaces.
Solution
Our team developed a robust design system with adjustable variables to accommodate the two screen sizes seamlessly. We collaborated closely with TKE to understand regional safety standards, enabling us to design components with dynamic sizing capabilities for icons, text, and layout elements across all orientations without manual resizing. This approach resulted in a highly customizable UI, with numerous layout configurations that enhanced flexibility.
Delight
To elevate the experience, we added light and dark mode options, fully supported by variable-based color styles. This feature offered customers deeper customization, allowing them to select custom light and dark mode colors that aligned with their brand. The standardized, well-documented design system provided both versatility and ease of use for clients.
Conclusion
The EOX multimedia display design included fully prototyped flows and smooth transitions, including emergency states compliant with U.S. and EU regulations. The final design system was met with enthusiasm, delivering an intuitive, premium experience that now exists in EOX elevators. TKE was thrilled with the polished, adaptable interface that exceeded their expectations, reinforcing Dragon Army’s expertise in UI/UX design, digital design leadership, and creative technology.
